Denise Bell Award Recipient

It delights me to share that I’ve been awarded the Denise Bell Award from Brooklyn Poets! The award goes to an emerging poet (who has not yet published a full-length book) with the most outstanding Poet of the Week feature of the year on Brooklyn Poet’s website, including a previously unpublished poem. The award honors  Denise Bell, a former Brooklyn Poets Fellow who started publishing late in life and passed away in 2021.

I will be recognized for the award at Brooklyn Poet’s annual gala where Eugenia Leigh will give remarks, and Cornelius Eady will be honored as the gala’s main honoree. If you’d like to attend the gala, and hear readings from myself and other award winners, please check Brooklyn Poet’s website for more details.
